Questions & Answers from Montse

Montse Capdevilla Fontgebil has a cave in Fuente Nueva which she uses as a holiday home when she is not working in Barcelona. She bought her cave in 1989 after only a week visiting the area; we talk to her about how she sees life in a cave.

Q: Why did you buy your cave?

A: Because of the uniqueness of the type of home. When you enter into a cave for the first time, immediately you find yourself liking it and this sensation stays with you always. This is a very special area.

Q: What is the best thing about cave living?

A: The experience of living in a natural style of home, which takes you back to the beginning of time. Of course also the silence and the surrounding area.

Q: What did your friends and family think when you bought your cave?

A: ¡Montse se ha vuelto loca! - They thought I had gone crazy! But now they fight amongst themselves to book a visit here and share with us our life in our caves.

Q: What is the best part of the Andalucian lifestyle as opposed to life in a big city such as Barcelona?

A: Here we are able to enjoy the small things in life, the important aspects of life. This area allows us to experience serenity, peace, happiness, nature and friendship.

Q: How do you see life in the caves here developing in the future?

A: For me, like the tower of Babel. I look forward to sharing this area with interesting and special people who have chosen this area to live and be happy.
